Thanks Evita! Here's an excerpt of that speech if anyone else wants to check it out: http://www.vegsource.com/articles2/popper_07.htm Dr. Pam Popper is a vegan and strongly encourages the plant-based, dairy free lifestyle. Her research is based upon long-term studies.

Excellent post and oh so true! I was a bit worried about cutting out milk, but after doing some research realized that all this hype about milk and calcium and osteoporosis is just media talking and the dairy farmers trying to keep their strong foothold in the average home.

The truth is as also per your post, we can get all the right amounts of calcium from a veggie diet and the only reason this osteoporosis scare exists is because most people are eating diets that are so acidic they are leaching out any calcium they have out of their bones to keep the body alkaline. But of course the dairy farmers won't tell you that.

A great resource for this is Dr. Pam Popper's work, especially her video from Vegsource.com from the 2007 Health Expo, well worth seeing.
