You may have heard chit-chat about the concept of growing meat in a lab as an alternative to slaughtering animals to for meat. Well, Times Online has announced that Holland scientists have, in fact, created something in a lab that’s kind of, sort of like meat! Grown meat that’s more like “wasted muscle tissue” at this point, which, oddly, no one seems to want to be the first to taste test. Actually, due to lab rules, they’re not allowed to. Yet. It sounds gross and creepy, but think of the pros, here. PETA sure has. They are offering $1 million “to the first team of scientists that can develop a method to produce commercially viable quantities of in vitro (lab-grown) chicken meat.” They say, “As far as we’re concerned, if meat is no longer a piece of a dead animal there’s no ethical objection.”

Now, I think meat is pretty gross, but I’m no stranger to faux meats. And I can understand the demand for this sort of thing. Imagine if fast-food joints like McDonald’s started using this stuff! I mean, the meat they use is kind of, not really like meat to begin with because it’s all processed and low-grade. So, why not swap it out for something that requires no animal sacrifice! And it would be so good for the environment! You may lose your appetite imagining these scientists (are you near a toilet?) massaging live pig cells resembling “sticky muscle tissue,” attempting to, ultimately, create a synthetic version of pork… but meat consumption is not going away any time soon, so, this could be a wonderful alternative.

Now, if only they could mass produce some amazing vegan cheeses that have similar consistency and taste to gourmet cheeses and spreads that I could buy just about anywhere, I’d be a happy lady. Don’t judge me, I grew up in the dairy state.

I heard about that on The Soup, actually. Sounds interesting but also pretty far away from actually being used any time soon. I’m with you on hoping for awesome vegan cheeses (still living in the dairy state)! :)

Many people know the importance of macros however many people do not understand the importance of micronutrients or probably don?t even know what I mean by micronutrients. By micronutrients I mean vitamins and minerals. Vitamins and minerals are very important to daily life processes. They are used to speed up nearly every action of all the body systems. But I will not go into complete detail on what all the vitamins and minerals do. But I will suggest using supplementation to get your daily amount of vitamins preferably twice a day pills, I rather twice a day instead of once a day because it will give you a constant supply of vitamins and minerals. See drinking all of that water will flush out a lot of your vitamins and minerals throughout the day if you only take a one a day supplement. However, I will suggest introducing one mineral to your diet especially after your workout, magnesium it is used for muscle contraction, protein metabolism, and energy. Some professional football trainers even go as drastic
